Here’s a look into the process of making this sweet little sleeping fawn necklace last week. 🥰 This was my first time working with speckled fawn jasper. As soon as I saw those spots I knew exactly what I had to do! I wrapped it in copper wire with a small aqua kyanite. I think it turned out so cute. What do you think? I have another cabochon cut from the same material. My first attempt at a lily of the valley pendant! 🌱 Several days ago, I smelled a super sweet floral scent while walking with my dog. I looked down, & sure enough, these tiny lilies were in bloom! These adorable flowers brought me so much joy that I knew I had to try to capture it in a pendant. I chose a super pretty moss agate as the main stone, & added a rainbow moonstone to the bail. After finishing this piece, I learned that the lily of the valley is the May birth flower! What a sweet coincidence since May starts on Wednesday! Mushroom pendants are back! 🍄✨ The last mushrooms I wire wrapped were part of my winter solstice collection when I made some red & white mushrooms using silver wire & red coral to pay homage to the amanita muscaria mushroom. So it’s been a solid 4 months since I’ve visited this design! I was so excited to make some more mushies for spring. The pendant I’m making in this video was made with agua nueva agate (I misspoke & called it lace agate. Oopsie!) & hessonite garnet in oxidized copper wire. Personally, I love the way oxidized copper looks, which is one of the many reasons it is the metal I work with most often! But I do get lots of comments from folks who want to see other metals, & it was a lot of fun to change things up! The sterling silver mushroom is made with hyacinth jasper & labradorite, & the 14K gold filled pendant is made with agua nueva agate & carnelian. Funny how my fingers are still this beat up even after a few days of not wire wrapping anything. 🙄😂 Rest is important, friends! I know there’s always something that needs to be done. My fellow solo-preneurs know what it’s like to never really “clock out.” Last week it finally caught up to me, & I just wasn’t feeling like my best self. Nothing serious, but I did have a little bit of a seasonal cold going on in conjunction with my usual nemesis, fibro fatigue. So rather than push myself to get my life together in time for my usual weekly shop update, I took it as a sign to slow down a little! I still worked on some other things, but I also spent a little extra time with my book & some warm tea to soothe my scratchy throat. It was a tough choice, but I didn’t stress myself out about the timeline, & I’m proud of myself for that. Having the freedom to rest when I need to is a huge privilege, & the whole dang reason I started doing this thing in the first place! I guess I just needed the reminder that sometimes you need to just be, & I’m here to pass it along to anyone else who might benefit. ANYWAY, here’s a luna moth pendant I made! I used a chrysoprase stone for the body and four little garnet beads in the wings. My second butterfly pendant in the books! 🦋 I’ve been hanging onto this special plume agate doublet for several months now. The gorgeous blue color behind the translucent white plume agate makes it look like the sky on a gorgeous partly cloudy day. ☁️🩵 I was a little nervous I would take away from the beauty of this stone once I got around to wrapping it, which is part of the reason why I put it off for so long. But ultimately, I love how it turned out! I can’t believe I went so long without making a death’s head moth pendant! 😱 This was the first moth species I ever attempted a few years ago, & I have progressed so much with this design. I think this is only the 4th or 5th of its kind now. I feel like I level up each time I complete one of these. They take so long to complete, but it’s worth every minute! 🥰 For this pendant, I used two citrine stones & a buffalo bone skull carving wrapped in oxidized copper wire.
