Here’s how I do it: 👇🏽 💙It’s a swimmable crown, it is super sturdy and I didn’t even have to add any extra clips to it 💙I swim VERY slowly to reduce resistance onto it 💙Instead of diving in head first I submerge underwater then swim 💙To avoid getting hair tangled on it before surfacing I do a sweep motion going down and then forward so the hair goes up and back behind the crown The reason I went with Jeanine’s crowns specifically was because I love how she fills the entire crown instead of just the sides. I’ve been waiting for a crown like this and it is my new favorite thing! A few techniques for mermaid performers👇🏽 Posture- I always say this one first! It’s very easy to forget about posture when the legs are bound. Minding your core and sitting up straight is one of the most important things to remember when performing as a mermaid. Movement- As a performer, just sitting or just doing the dolphin kick is simply not enough, to my standards lol slow, beautiful, flowy movements are a requirement for me. Hair off the face- this one is pretty easy to master but it requires lots of practice before showing off your skills in front of a crowd. Sometimes hair doesn’t cooperate, so you have to manage it and purposely tell it where to go! Surface work- for poolside performances staying on the surface allows guests to take nice photos of mermaids when they’re performing. Swimming underwater is awesome too but the majority of the time you want to make sure the guests immortalize the memory of seeing a mermaid for the first time in a photo. So be close, be ready and be beautiful!
