Let’s listen to a plant using my PlantWave plant music device. Just attach two sensors to a plant’s leaves and the device measures electrical changes in plants, graphs them as a wave and translates them to pitch signals. Those signals are streamed wirelessly to the PlantWave app, which has instruments you can choose. Every plant will play these a little differently. One of the things I love most about what I do is helping incredibly talented artists incorporate plant music into their work. In being the bridge between musician and nature, I find myself in a state of play. It's this sort of dance of discovery through sound where we find resonance between the narrative of song and the feeling of place. Then we let nature take its course by connecting @PlantWave and working with what the plants give us. I've had the pleasure of collaborating with dozens of artists in the past, some well known and others I'm not allowed to say because I acted as a ghost producer. I'm super proud to have had the privilege of working with @Windser in @discoverpalmdesert The process of co-creating in the desert is one of my all-time favorite experiences. While I can take some modest credit for sculpting the drone sounds played by the plant in the beginning of the track and throughout, I had nothing to do with the incredible song craft of the genius musical mind that is Windser. That's part of the challenge that inspired me to work on this project. How to bring the wildness of nature in an authentic way into a song without disrupting something that was so perfectly crafted? I'm quite pleased with the result ing track and am sure you will be, too.
