Here is the junk journal flip through of the Scrapbook box that I received from @Funto Art . I challenged myself that I would not use any other item other than what was in the box to make this junk journal- with the exception being the standard items like glue, string (to sew the signatures in) and black stamp pad ink to apply to the edges. I was tempted, to add even a decorated paper clip, but no, I stuck to my promise that this would be 100% made from the Scrapbook kit I was sent (see the link below to see what was inside it). I'm really glad I did this. It encouraged me to think outside the box and create things I never would have. I used up my scraps too, to create even more diversity. I enjoyed this challenge very much and may do more! When a company sends me an item to sample, I really like to give it a good effort to show you what can be created with it. it's more time consuming, but personally more satisfying because I like to expand my creativity. I'll be honest, I have not used a lot of washi tape in the past, so this set intrigued me. I wanted to approach it from the mindset of someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend but wanted to create a thoughtful gift. the price point on this washi tape set was low enough that a thrifty buyer on a budget could afford this. I went to work and created this no sew journal using the washi tape both in the tabbed hinges, and also at the center of each page spread. I created the junk journal cover, several journal cards, decorated the envelopes and paper bags as tuck spots, and created tags. I was sure I would have gone through the whole set, but each roll had washi tape left over so that I can embellish even more journal cards, bookmarks, closures, and more. I'm an unskilled novice at sketching faces. This is my first attempt, and I put it out there for the world to see, haha. It's not very good. I clearly don't know how to draw noses. I don't know how to shade either. I followed two video tutorials to help me get started on the right path. one was on the "Gram" by a creator named eyeinspired. The other was on the "Tube" by artist Karen Campbell. In my defense, videotaping my first face while watching the tutorials is not that easy! Needless to say, there is room for improvement. That's OK, because with this mechanical pencil set, there are so many leads, I can keep practicing, and I will because I absolutely adore the cute, whimsical faces by mixed media artists and I'm determined to learn how to create them myself. I will post my progress from time to time. I hope that a few months from now I can do a before and after to show you that practice practice and more practice works ! now about these pencils. I needed to clear up some space on the phone, so i decided to sample this product. The instructions they included for android phones were incorrect- at least for my phone. It was a beautiful day today, and the last thing i wanted to do was to spend time trying to figure out how to transfer photos from my phone to the computer - but I'm like a dog with a bone and needed to figure it out. I searched for any video to explain how to do this - and they were either nonexistent or under search terms I wasn't using. So I bit the bullet and spent time creating my how-to.
