Many of you are curious as to why our GmP factory got so many wastages (and why i always have mini RM 9.90 sale) So heres the thing guys; in our factory; we are making mostly all naturally derived products. And these products generally don’t have long shelf life. Now the problem is; most big order clients orders 5000pcs, 10000pcs and their packaging comes from overseas (kebanyakkan from 🇨🇳 ) and some of them are really poor quality ones. At times up to 20% rejected! And so imagine we have like 1000pcs (20-50kg) of ‘extra’ products that cant be filled. Usual practice for other places is to keep them stored till the remaining containers comes. But.. Ours is natural product that will rosak in 12-18 months, and these packagings can take up to 3 months before it comes. I tak nak la give to the clients something thats gona rosak kan. Dah la they get bukan terus can sell also. Nanti tak pasal2 its in clients place for half a year amd left half year gona expired😩. So usually for this; i will make a fresh batch. Tapi; this existing batch? Takkan wanna throw kan! And so coz of that i usually recycle it by modifying it slightly (like change texture, change scent etc) so that its not the same as the client punya; you guys get to try new things, and we tak payah throw and waste. Plus u will use right away so no chances of it to ‘expire’ so soon pun. Hi guys. Last week we made a big production for an OEM customer for clay mask. However, some of their packaging was rejected due to printing issue/ dents etc and so we are now ‘stuck’ with a huge amount of ready clay mask. Due to the natural-ness of the product; we cant keep it long as it will expire in 12 months and the oem customer will take aboyt 3 months before we got packaging from them. So this time i added CAPB (a naturally derived surfactant from coconut) and added some clay for pink color, and some walnut and rice for its scrubby effect and decided to call it mud clay scrub! Its suitable for both body and face but i did add a lot of scents so it may peningkan your kepala if you put on face (dekat sgt with hidung). When im conducting skin consultation; here is one thing that i always ask my patients; do you have dry skin, or dehydrated skin. Its very important to know which you have because the treatment for both is slightly different. You can be having oily skin and dehydrated skin as well or vice versa. One of the questions that i always ask people when they come in for skin consultation is their skin type. Wether is oily or dry. And a lot will say its combination; and when further enquiry is made: mostly have dry skin. Especially those who are 37-38 yrs old above. When checking about their current products they are using; most of their moisturiser is ‘oil free’. Which will then ill ask further why: and most will say dont want oily coz scared pimples. But at the same time; their current concern is fine lines and wrinkles (which at tht age is usually coz of internally dry skin!) So heres something incase you dont already know; For years now since our teenage years we hv thing ‘thing’ in us feeling that our oily face is why our pimples comes about; but its not really true. Oil is not equivalent to acne. Blocked pores is. And your pores are not usually blocked by oils frm ur skincare (some does but if you use non comedogenic oil it wont). So if you have like oily skin; try to opt for skincare that uses oils like jojoba oil, argan oil, rose hip oil (like SoapLab’s Soy Face Oil) because they are lighter oil that are absorbed fast and doesnt block pores. But if you have dry skin; go for non comedogenic oils that are thicker, something like mango butter, shea butter, castor oil, olive oil and so on. These dont block pores but because of the nature where its thicker; it will stay on ur skin longer for prolonged moisturising effect (like our B3 ceramide balm). Wether you are DIYing, or looking for skincare thats readymade; its important to determine what kind of skin you have; and go from there. Dont just buy a product coz its viral. So someone asked me if using SoapLab’s based can get NOT of not? Well just FYI; all soaplab’s readymade product is from our bases, and all of them have KKM NOT. So if you use the bases + making sure that all the other additional ingredients u add in has COA, and your label doesnt overclaim; you will get NOT too when you make in bulk. you want to make handmade soap. Great! After much reading; it looks like you want to make cold process soap. Thats better👏🏼👏🏼 But heres the problem; how to select the oils? Some said olive oil is good, some say coconut, some said argan 💸 So which one? Well truthfully not one is better than the other. It really depends on what you want the soap to do and go from there. Some oils is for cleansing, some is for hardening, some for bubbles. Basically there is no one oil that does everything; and so because of that: we usually mix and match them to get the best soap. Something thats cleansing, something thats moisturising, something thts hard and doesnt melt in 2 weeks, and sometjinh with bubbles. Heres some oils that are for these purpose: Cleansing: 1) coconut 2) palm kernel oil Moisturising: 1) most oils except the cleansing ones Hardening 1) shea butter 2) cocoa butter 3) palm oil 4) coconut Bubbles: 1) castor oil So as you can see; we need all of these. So once you have selected ur oils (according to your budget), just head to soaplab’s website, look for soap calculator, fill it up and voila; your basic recipe for soap is ready.
