Just like that we traded Baltimore for Belize! 😂 Here’s how we traveled to San Pedro, which is on the island Madonna sang about in her hit “La Isla Bonita”! We booked our flights with Southwest during one of their huge sales in January for less than 14,000 points + $104 in taxes/fees. We used our Companion Pass to get Alexis’s flight for zero points & $104 in taxes/fees. To get from Belize City to San Pedro, you have two options. You can take a 25 minute taxi ride to the water ferry station (about $35 USD) and then a 1.5 hour ferry ride (about $30 USD per person one-way). Or you can take a 15 minute flight from Belize City airport to San Pedro, which costs about $85 USD if booked in advance and $95 if booked same day. We definitely recommend booking in advance because these flights fill up! There are 2 airlines that offer this flight- Tropic Air and Maya Air. We recommend allowing yourself about 90 minutes to get through customs and check in for your domestic flight to San Pedro. We opted for the quicker (more expensive) option and loved the views from the plane of the bright blue turquoise water! Check out our Belize story highlights to see the view.
