Back with another WOTD this week! Today’s word, or term rather, is “lead came”. Lead came is one of the two most important components of a leaded stained glass window. It’s what holds all the glass together. It’s manufactured in long rods that the craftsperson will cut down to the desired size. The lead came has an H shape, which enables it to hold pieces of glass in place. And yes, it’s LEAD lead.
