Replying to @Buzyz Here is a guide on how to dye natural fiber garments. But I’m also going to explain to you why each ingredient matters and how it affects the process. 1) Water is obvious, you need a medium to allow the fabric and dye to meet 2) Dish soap allows the dye to spread out a bit more evenly, this helps you get a more uniform dye 3) Salt makes the textile more accepting of the dye 4) Temperature is very important, you’ll need to get your water up to at least 140 F / 60 C for the dye to work best. I used an immersion water heater / sous vide machine to handle this for me 5) Movement!!! Make sure to keep that water and fabric moving to get an even dye. Again, my water heater circulates the water so that was taken care of Once you’re done with the actual dyeing process, give the textile a rinse until the water is clear and then wash it by itself. This shirt is a great example of how natural & synthetic fabric blends react when dyed. The cotton accepted the dye but the polyester did not, resulting in this dark grey heathered tone.
