If your baby is protesting the swaddle at first, I recommend sticking with it and laying on some other calming tricks to help them settle (such as bouncing, rocking, pacifier, eyebrow stroke, etc.) When babies start to become sleepy, they are less content, more squirmy, and will often start to fuss.
