Why Wrestling Is NOT Enough - Note: Ran into quite a funny moment where a particular training partner clearly worked on his wrestling game more than me. Now at first I was gonna wrestle with him and attempt to create crazy scramble content until I realized his defensive responses to my Triangle Chokes were incredibly slow😂 So I decided to make a point. Let him take me down with minimal resistance and Triangle choke him after😂 And I didn’t both to complain about the manner of his takedowns. Momma ain’t raise no b***h AND!!!! Slams are not as powerful as you think if the person getting slammed understands where they’re going. (How to fall properly) Takedowns are not as powerful is your getting choked to death the moment you hit the ground. Many get there and either stall, have no clue on how to finish or simply get thrown off and entirely lose the position. Yet in competition The Mount equals the same points as The Back, so that means this is suppose to be one of the most dominant positions in our sport. Okay okay - to the point. Control. Yes I know I say this all the damn time I can sound like a broken record. But the mount is not JUST about static control. It’s also about dynamic control. And THAT part is what people don’t understands, the moment you get to the mount, you should think of it like staying on top of a wild bull that’s trying to buck you off. The Back, in my opinion, is all about forcing static control, and the Mount is about Dynamic Control TO OBTAIN static control. So in this video it LOOKS like I’m doing static control. I usually use this submission (Americana) to force my opponent on their side so I can take their back and fight for a rear naked choke.
