I wanted to show you guys what disabled people have to deal with on the daily basis due to lack of accessibility. And this is inly a portion of it. As you can see, MOST of the buttons don’t work on the doors, parking is far, and the parking lot isn’t accessible. Dealing with having a disability alone is already a lot, but adding the fact that we have to navigate in a world that wasn’t built with us in mind is gut wrenching and makes it 10x harder to deal with. Merely following the bare minimum rules that ADA provides just isn’t enough and in most cases institutuons can’t even hold THAT up. I’m hoping that with my platform I can help spread awareness about the lack of accessibility in the world, spark up a conversation about a monumental change, and execute a plan to help make the lives of diabled individuals everywhere easier and more enjoyable. I cannot wait for AccessAbility Fest! Where do service dogs go when their humans need tests at the hospital? 🏥 This is about outpatient care. Things are slightly different for inpatient care, as the alternate can come and go to take the service dog to relieve themself, handle for procedures, etc. #cardiacalertdog #servicedog #workingdog #wlgsd #germanshepherd #dogtraining #ambulatorywheelchairuser #mcas #ehlersdanlossyndrome #pots

I’m so tired of hearing this 😅 Disabled people already go through enough with our every day physical and mental struggles, then we have to get on the internet and be accused by able bodied people who know nothing about disabilities of faking it. PLEASE watch the video all the way through and share to spread disability and ambulatory wheelchair user awareness ♿️ #disabled #disabilityawareness #ambulatorywheelchairuser #paralyzed #partiallyparalyzed #paralysis #incontinence

Lucifer the cardiac alert dog just alerted to my 4th ever neurological episode (that we believe are seizures, not yet confirmed by EEG) by choosing to seek out and attempt to grab his bringsel that was hanging on the wall while I FaceTimed a friend about 1-2 minutes before I felt any symptoms. This is called a natural alert and it’s an amazing thing we’re so grateful for. Because he’s already trained to alert to my cardiac issues by grabbing his bringsel, he knows how to communicate to me that there’s something going wrong. When he reacts to these episodes, he goes all out. He gets vocal, grabs his bringsel, paw alerts as well, the whole 9 yards. He knows it’s a big deal. These alerts give me valuable time to react in order to get somewhere safe or take action to avoid the episode. When he isn’t wearing his bringsel, he can alert by grabbing his leash or using his paw to alert. #Cardiacalertdog #servicedog #workingdog #wlgsd #germanshepherd #dogtraining #ambulatorywheelchairuser #mcas #ehlersdanlossyndrome #pots

what’s your figit of the day? i love needoh! they’re my favorite. remember that stimming is not only natural and safe, its good for you! i will always disclose- this figit was purchased on my own but the link attached generates commission. i like this figit bc its harder to start which is great for my hand strength building but warms up and becomes more malliable. its cute and a fun texture. @NeeDoh Official i love you, pls sponsor me👏🏻🩷 accessibility: a blue clear square figit that resembles an ice cube is squished in the hand #needoh #needohnicecube #disabled #servicedog #assistancedog #ambulatorywheelchairuser #actuallyautistic #servicedoghandler #disabledandcute #floridaservicedog #ehlersdanlossyndrome #potsawareness #disabledcreator #disabled #chronicillnessawareness #chronicillnessawareness #neurodivergent #chronicillnesslife #actuallyautustic #stimmingisnormal

Microwaving these left over took me a little bit over 10 minutes bc i did everything from the floor. My pain is so bad lately that any little bit of activity (even walking to the bathroom) causes tremendous pain and muscle spasms. I loaded my tiny dishwasher before i microwaved my food and this was the result. I stood up for way too long (maybe 10-15 minutes). There is no shame accomplishing things from the floor if you cannot stand. What matters is your health, and keeping yourself alive. #hypermobileehlersdanlossyndrome #ehlersdanlos #ehlersdanlossyndrome #chronicallyill #chronicillness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicillnesswarrior #disabled #disability #disabilitytiktok #potssyndrome #posturalorthostatictachycardiasyndrome #posturalorthostatictachycardia #mobilityaid #wheelchairuser #ambulatorywheelchairuser

The show is tomorrow! 😱 There are just a couple of tickets left apparently! 🤗 I’m hoping to show people that lots of wheelchair users also walk … I will be walking as much as I can - hoping to manage the first half of the show walking the catwalk and wheeling to the dressing room but then for the second half I’ll need to use my wheelchair. I have a condition which causes my joints to be painful and unstable so was prescribed a walking stick and physio/GP after trying lots of alternatives first. I can walk very short distances without and even then it is very painful. In this clip I’ve taken strong pain medication to help me do the rehearsal. Mobility aids help me live a much fuller life and I’m so grateful to have them! - Also thank you to Elle for lending me this chair to practice one walk in the rehearsal - mine was in the car and is bright pink and sparkly 😁✨ Of course. 💁♀️✨✨ #slaywithsparkle #ambulatorywheelchairuser #runwaymodel #runwayidol2023 #disabledmodel #disabilitypridemonth #disabilitypridemonth2023

We all seem to pretend the “plans” (let’s be real, you all know what I’m talking about, I’m just not allowed to say it) aren’t happening, but I’m tired of pretending. It’s happening. It’s more common than you know. It’s not okay. #Cardiacalertdog #servicedog #workingdog #wlgsd #germanshepherd #dogtraining #ambulatorywheelchairuser #mcas #ehlersdanlossyndrome #pots
