Replying to @gothorella Oh if I only had a brain 🧠 tutorial 🫀 To make our squishy brain we are going to be utilizing liquid latex and flex foam it! 3 along with a store bought jello mold with an option to use 2 jello molds so your brain can have a nice (albeit anatomically incorrect )bottom . Before we can get started we need to mix up some crimson 🩸 using 15 drops of red food coloring two drops of blue and one drop of brown into one ounce of a liquid latex. do a color Swatch fr. Now that we have some 🩸 we're going to mix a dollop of the 🩸 into more clear liquid latex so it's just a slight 🩸 tint, do not go over board or the brain will end up too dark next we're going to use that to paint 5ish layers in the brain mold making sure the first two are pretty thin And using a hair dryer (not heatgun) to speed up dry time. Once it seems like we've built up a good skin let's go in with some 1:1 🩸 to clear latex and then use it to paint the ridges of the brain that will end up being the folds later. Put a couple of those layers on and let them dry. and then mix in a dollop of white paint into your 1:1 mixture . The white paint will add opacity. This is going to end up the main color of your brain so do another paint swatch and see what color this will dry to make sure you are happy with it. Once you have built up enough layers that your skin is no longer transparent, It finally foam time! If you are bottom capping the brain (like I show in the footage) take a second brain mold and cut it down so that it can fit inside the first one Then while you are painting the layers of latex on the first mold, paint them in this shallower second mold at the same time (so they end up looking the same) . Back to foam. Use 3 oz of flex foam it 3 , if you have “so strong” dye I would tint it “flesh” color, but that step is optional. When you pour the foam place the skullcap over top while the foam rises as last second as possible and hold it there till its done which should be in around 5 minutes Let the brain sit for at least 2 hours while the foam cures. Once it's ready to go carefully demold the brain big half first then peel of the skullcap. This should leave you with a brain ball and a latex flap that you can trim mostly away and using the fact that latex sticks to itself, use the remaining flap to mesh the two halves together. IMPORTANT NOTE: Cut (multiple) vent holes or your brain will pop like a balloon upon being squished. Now for some gory decoration, bringing the crimson 🩸 back from before, paint on crimson to personal taste but focus it in the folds to help give it a more pronounced look. the latex will stick to other latex unless you powder it (with talc or corn starch) but that will also cut the shine so trade off. #brain #braintutorial #tutorial #howtomakeabrain #squishybrain #brains #brainsquish #liquidlatex #spookycraft #flexfoam #craft #art #brainart

Replying to @444x_.jay 🧠 Experimental brains into visceral ornaments, just another day in my goth-o-life lol 😜 a few years back I saw a video on using rolled up liquid latex as fake intestines which put an idea in my head and then when It came time to make a fake brain. I finally got the opportunity to do these experiments! Online I had found other people who used stretched latex wrapped around upholstery foam for a heart but I hadn't seen anyone using liquid latex in molds like this! so I set out on some experiments and I'm super happy with how it all came out, even if it took 6 tries and 2 hearts to get it (almost) right 😜🧠! but more than that I'm super duper happy I get a chance to share this method and process with all of you 🥰🧠 I hope you take this method (if you are so inclined) and make something even cooler than I could and some one learns from you and makes something even cooler than that and the cycle goes ever onward! 🧠 (Disclaimer, I didn't look around that hard, someone else has probably done this method) #brain #fakebrain #artexpirimenting #expirement #liquidlatex #art #flexfoam #ornaments
