I was terrified that cardio and running would “kill my gains” when I first started training. I would avoid it at all costs. BUT, as I got older (and did more research) I learned that this was far from the truth.. Here are 3️⃣ reasons why hybrid training is an effective way to both BUILD MUSCLE and create longevity.. 1️⃣ People will say that “running will destroy your muscle mass”. More research and meta analysis finds that aerobic conditioning does not reduce hypertrophy or strength. Theres statistics that actually show that some form of cardio may actually be BENEFICIAL for hypertrophy - PMID 34757594 2️⃣ Quality of life - the higher you can increase and maintain your VO2 max, the better your chances of improving lifespan AND healthspan (quality of life) 3️⃣ Training flexibility - the best training plan in the one that you can stick to. I’m a big believer in the more flexible you are in your training regime, the more sustainable it’ll be. This year I really want to upgrade my life and improve in several areas. I am tired of saying I want to reach a certain level in life but I don’t stick to the process. I have always been motivated and driven to accomplish my goals but a lot of them still have not come to fruition because the discipline wasn’t there. Self improvement can be challenging which is why I want to work on having DISCIPLINE.
