Aside from just getting your dog to turn around, one of the biggest issues with recall is that the dog will just run by you or do what I call a “tag and go” where they get within about 3 to 5 feet of you and then turn around and run back to where they came from. These issues can be resolved very easily with a long line and good leash handling. Back up and reel in the leash as your dog starts to come to you. Just make sure you are not pulling them the entire way, and only provide leash guidance when get off track I hope this helps you have a better recall with your dog. Happy training. #dogtrainingtips #DogTrainingAdvice #DogObedience, #DogObedienceTraining #OffLeashDogs #BalanceDogTraining Do you struggle with the recall? 👇🏽

Trust is like love. Both parties have to feel it before it really exists. I trust my dogs and they trust me. This trust is built on practice, communication and most importantly, my Leadership. The world around us is dynamic and I allow my dogs to move through the world as free as possible because of the relationship we have and the trust we’ve built. Trust isn’t what we do; it is what results from what we do. 💯 What do you think about this walk? #offleashdogs #parkday #balanceddogtraining #balanceddogtrainer #balanceddogs #packleader #leader #gsdlover #gsdpage #dingo #dingodog

Believe it or not, we are not practicing the recall. We’re actually working on teaching the dog to make better decisions when she sees other dogs. She instinctively wants to run towards dogs when she sees them. It’s not necessary to always recall her when we can teach her to either calmly observe or just completely ignore them. We can reserve the recall for other situations. In order to trust her decision making process, we need to “test” her decision making processes and provide feedback for her actions, with the majority of the feedback being positive. More trust equals more freedom 💯 Do you need to work on building trust with your dog? #dogtraining #dogpsychology #dogobedience #dogtips #dogbehavior #offleashdogs #offleashlife #balanceddogtraining
