equipment takes a beating during the growing season, from tractors to ladders! Faulty equipment not only puts our employees at risk, but it can also turn into a big draw on funds if we are constantly replacing them. (Example: a new ladder is about $400 x 60 ladders). PLUS, we are required to give our contract workers a certain amount of hours per week. So, if the weather isn’t cooperating for outside work, this is a GREAT alternative and puts those hours to good use. Simple upkeep and maintenance in the off-season helps us start off on the right foot for the next growing season. And of course as managers, helps us keep our input costs down and our orchard running as smoothly as possible!
