I feel bad because it is never the majority of the class. And then I feel I have to focus on silly behaviour so much that the people doing the work do not get the attention they need. Being a teacher has its ups and downs but the days that go well honestly just feel amazing!! Like that feeling of happiness and being on top of the world because the pupils finally get it or you acc feel you are making a difference 😭 This was the last day of term so I did a quiz with the Y7’s and 8’s where the winners got a chocolate bar and everyone got chocolate! Teaching is one of the most difficult but also most rewarding job ✨ I’ve found myself complaining a lot recently and really dreading going back after half-term. Yes, it’s natural, everyone feels nervous but it feels like there’s Sunday scaries every night 😭 However, everytime I’m back in school, I realise I enjoy it and there’s so much to be proud of and so much positivity to focus on. Working with kids, forming positive relationships, that feeling when the class finally understands something, actively feeling like you’re making a difference. I know that with teaching most teachers are complaining about the expectations and workload, not the students. In fact, teaching is the best part of the job. It’s just the in between and constant checks that can sometimes make you feel judged or like you’re doing everything wrong. I don’t want to look back at my time and regret that I didn’t enjoy the moment as much, so I’m going to make it my mission to celebrate a positive teaching moment every day. I’m still gonna rant at points or talk if something is challenging but aim to not make it the focus of my whole journey as a teacher 😇 Hope everyone has had a great half-term, good luck for teaching tomorrow! Workload is on the up and I have so many things + paperwork to get through. Glad this week is my lighter timetable week so hopefully I get my planning in properly. When I say this week I slept like 3-4hrs each night and still wasn’t able to finish everything. Literally would be planning at lunch, and not eating anything until the end of the day. But inshaAllah I fix up with organisation and manage my time better.
