Delivery vehicles or trucks have ✨never✨ been exempt from NO STOPPING areas and or bike lanes or cycle track. This UPS truck is 100% obstructing the Wellesley Street East bike lane. I was riding with PEO hickey and he issues it a $150 fine. The ticket on the high windshield wiper was from a different address/by-law. Stop in multiple spots illegally? here I am enforcing an accessible loading zone where one vehicle automatically gets a ticket for being paved and not having a accessible permit displayed, while the Mini Cooper DID have a permit displayed. However this is intended for LOADING. If the vehicle is left unoccupied for 15 mins and no one is observed engaged in pick up or dropping off a person with accesible requirement, the vehicle is subject to $450 ticket which is what happened in this scenario. I timed it for exactly 30 mins, so giving an extra grace time period. Not every ticket served, and driver returning has to be a fight ! This driver returned back after I had already printed and served the ticket. He parked in a No parking area, took the chance and unfortunately got caught. He said as he approached “I’m not going to argue with you” and i explained to him he has multiple outstanding tickets, and he advised his son drives his car often and wasn’t aware. as you can see i explain how he can deal with said tickets, and he went on his way. I wish more people were about to handle their tickets with accountability and grace, instead of a screaming match. again, I’m not the one who parks your car illegally. When im assigned a bike lane detail, just know it will be a strict approach. Drive away or not, you block the bike lane while im riding in it expect the ticket! These bike lane assignments came from city councillors office who are receiving mutilple complaints about these zones.
