Do this if youāre struggling to get responses to your outreach š 1. Make an email a brand actually wants to read. No one likes the person that just talks about themselves at the party. If your message is all about you, why youāre qualified, what you do, why you want to work with them, that usually falls on deaf ears. But if you offer to help them do something with 0 strings attached they are far more likely to hear you out in the future. Give value up front! This could be a brand audit, strategy breakdown, viral video idea, or anything else you think could genuinely benefit the brand in getting to their end goal. PRO TIP: donāt include these in the first email. See point 2. 2. Make it a minimal friction Ask. Remember youāre just a random stranger on the internet to the brand at this stage of the game. No one has time to read a book of an email, look at your media kit, review pricing, and read an entire pitch deck, etc. it takes way too long and itās high friction so therefore you get ghosted. Instead make the response as simple as a yes or no. This is how youāll get to $10k/mo with 0 followers š š Youāre gonna wanna save this for later 1. Get a case study of actual results ASAP 2. Make a list of at least 200 brands you want to work with. Donāt go huge yet. For brands think somewhere in the $2-7mil per year revenue mark. Hotels think lux boutique (not IG famous ones yet). 3. Create a reachout template that leverages the case study results in step 1 and speaks direct to the dream outcome with a low friction CTA. 4. Send 10-15 minimum per day 5. If you send 200 youāll likely be able to get at least 5-10 on a call. Pitch them an offer they canāt refuse and close 1-3 on a mid 4 figure offer. How to actually get paidš š You're gonna want to save this First off if you want to get free collabs thereās tons of creators showing that, but this is how to actually make a living shooting for hotels based on my personal experience. 1. Learn how to make content that actually works. Learn the sales process of a typical resort and where they would potentially need different types of videos. HINT: they need to attract eyeballs, nurture eyeballs, and convert eyeballs into guests. This is where most creators go wrong. Making something that looks cool is one thing. Making something that makes someone want to go to the hotel is a whole ānother ballgame. 2. Offer to shoot for free for 2-3 properties to get the ball rolling (ideally ones that obviously need help). Itās not to get a free stay. Itās to get a case study and testimonial of results for a real client. It is nearly impossible to get paid jobs without proof of results. (You wouldnāt buy something on Amazon with no reviews right?) Done 2-3 shoots? Great nowā¦ 3. Over deliver Surprise them. Make something they didnāt ask for. Throw in a few extra deliverables. You donāt have to go crazy but any over delivering helps especially in an industry of entitled influencers. Finished a few shoots? 4. Ask for feedback Ask what the client liked about working with you, how they liked the content, what could be better etc. be prepared for them to be honest and it may not feel great sometimes but if you take the criticism itāll make you better. Got a few example shoots, feedback and results? 5. Compile the client feedback, results and content you created into a case study (I have a video on my YT about this). This will be your claim youāll use in future pitches. Donāt move on until you have 2-3, thenā¦ 6. Reach out to potential clients and offer them a free strategy session to achieve their dream result (more bookings, lower ad cost etc) using your new case study as social proof. In the beginning expect 20% reply and 2-5% call booking rate. 7. Book some calls share the strategy, close deals, get killer results, and grow your business. After talking with literally thousands of creators, Iāve realized that most donāt have any plan of action on how they run their business. Aka they rely on luck. They donāt have a dialed in offer They donāt have a acquisition system They donāt have a framework for closing deals Their pricing is random and sporadic And guess what, they donāt get paid much and have minimal client results. And just for the record, posting to instagram, engaging, and hoping to go viral (like what so many creator gurus teach) isnāt a strategy because it requires multiple layers of luck. 1. That the video actually goes viral 2. That a brand sees it and actually wants to reach out 3. That they will be willing to pay you In other words itās not a strategy, itās a crapshoot. I donāt like leaving my business up to chance so thatās why I developed a system to bring consistency to the mix. So I can track key metrics and know what I need to do to improve. If you want to be average (aka get free collabs, scrape by, be treated as a commodity) then continue relying on luck, but if you want to have a sustainable business you need to make a plan.
