Newborn Kitten Abandoned Under A House, Found Screaming And Covered In Ants, Fleas & Mud... At only DAYS old, Gus was abandoned under perilous circumstances. This infant kitten spent two agonizing days screaming for help from under a house, covered in ants, fleas, and mud, and waiting for his mother who would never return. We were recently contacted about Gus, a tiny newborn kitten who had been abandoned under a house and left to the mercy of the unforgiving elements. When his finder stumbled upon him, Gus was screaming for help. The finder thought Gus's mother would return to him, but two painful days passed with no sign of her. By the time we were alerted, Gus was covered in a horrifying mix of ants, fleas, and mud, his tiny body on the verge of giving out. Gus eventually made his way into our care. Insect bites peppered his skin and his fur was clogged with dirt. Our greatest concern was that this little baby had gone at least two days without any food, and was now dangerously malnourished. Gus was rushed to the ER and immediately placed inside an incubator. He has since received around-the-clock care and is being fed by experienced bottle-feeders. This brave little kitten is fighting so hard to keep going, and we are determined to give him the second chance he deserves.
