It’s tempting to go in attack mode when someone is being unprofessional. But it won’t get your very far… Matching disrespect with disrespect won’t get you respect! There’s a better way to get your desired outcome. - Address the behaviour with curiosity - Set clear boundaries - use accountability to establish expectations This takes more emotional intelligence, control and leadership than being rude in return. It also drives better results long term. You can’t be seen, heard and recognized as a leader if your behaviour is reactive. You got this! P.S. Today is Live Masterclass day. I hope you registered in time. If so, I will see you live tonight 7:30pm EST. 👏🏼 B

With a PhD in urban engineering, Edith believed that if only she had graduated from an American university, her colleagues would value her ideas… Crazy thing is, Edith is the only one on her team with a PhD and a specialty specific to the projects her and her team are working on. 🤯 This belief, and a few others, were affecting the way she communicated with her team and superiors, resulting in: - lack of recognition - lack of leadership - lack of credibility - lack of authority So much so that her boss expressed his disappointment and surprise: she had been hired on her merit, her experience, her expertise… yet she was failing to lead her team of 7. Edith enrolled in leadership and communication training but they didn’t address her core beliefs. So when the pressure was on, she revert back to her former way of communicating. Until we worked together. Communication, shifting other people’s perception, influencing outcomes, leading others… It starts with you. If you want to be heard, to be valued, to be recognized, it starts with what you believe to be true about you. P.S. Edith has now be promoted to Executive Director of Planning and leads a team of 50. 👏🏼 #leadership #confidence #communication #learnontiktok

Assertiveness is 30% *what* you say and 70% *how* you say it. ⭐️CLICK THE LINK IN MY BIO TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT⭐️ Assertiveness is the most overlooked skill you need to get ahead. And in today’s economy, being invisible is not an option. Assertiveness allows you to be seen. It allows you to be heard as an equal and have your ideas valued. It allows you to advocate for yourself and get the recognition you deserve. It allows you to capitalize on opportunities and reach your next level of success faster… Without the stress, anxiety or overwhelm of people-pleasing or playing small. The first transformation my clients notice when they start being more assertive is how *easier* their everyday feels: They feel more at ease in their interactions with others, they feel heard and valued, they feel respected. This makes them more productive and more fulfilled. Giving them the freedom to go for bigger and better opportunities. If you want to experience the same transformation and learn more assertive strategies, join my new free masterclass. Spaces are limited for this Masterclass. They’re difficult. Doesn’t mean they’re impossible! Every human being has what I call bending points: things they are willing to bend for. Difficult personalities are no different. If you want them to agree or go along with one of your ideas, you have to find their bending point. I know that may sound difficult but in reality it’s as simple as observing them. *Most importantly* you can do this without compromising your authenticity, your boundaries or your own desires. If you want to learn how to be more assertive and persuasive and how to maintain composure under pressure, get my new eBook: Presence & Power! Stop trying to “teach” manipulators that what they do is wrong… they know it’s wrong… they do it because it works. It sucks to hear. I agree. Buy Master Manipulators are geniuses at their craft. Most times, you won’t even realize you’re being manipulated. So don’t waste your time trying to “teach a lesson” to a manipulator. Instead, learn some key indicators that can help you tailor a better, non-reactive, response. Key words here being: non-reactive. To be unattached to what they say. To be emotionally unavailable to their manipulation. So they’ll know, right away, that manipulation doesn’t work on you. No lengthy explanation needed… Just a cool, calm, collected and composed unemotional response 👏🏼 You got this! #confidence #communication #manipulation #executivepresence
