The kidneys are the body's filtration system. They receive about 25% of the heart's output. In a structure called glomeruli, the blood is filtered out into the principle cell of the kidney: the nephron. Many nephrons connect into a collecting duct, these collecting ducts then drain at the renal papillae seen in the video. The space the fluid dumps into is called a minor calyx, calyx meaning a cup-like cavity. Many minor calyces join to form a major calyx, which then join to become the renal pelvis.
