One thing I've learned later (real fuckin late) in life is..... Not everyone is gunna be happy for you and that's ok. People don't owe you anything in this life. But what they do owe you is honest, and if they can't do that, you shouldn't allow them around you. It doesn't matter if it's your BFF or your Mom. Envious/jealous people destroy you in the end. Even if they are not conscious of their dangerous actions. Overt or covert! It doesn't matter. And calling it out most times won't result in changed behavior. However, removing yourself when you notice things becoming harmful does... What about you? How are you able to stop this energy and what are some tips you use to deal with these experiences. Let's chat about it below in the comments

Where are my oreos at?!?! I remember hearing this term for the first time, I was 8, and my older sister kept using this word to describe me (she's 8 years older). I kept asking why she was calling me a cookie... Fast forward to my 20s and my younger sister on my dad's side would call me similar names whenever we were together.... At rhe time, I definitely tried to act like it didn't bother me much, but in reality, it pushed me deeper into ME. I loved surfing and living by the beach. I didn't care what color of friends my friend group was. I loved to be in the water all day and hanging out in dive bars with flip flips and a bikini top. I definitely didn't understand what the issue was within the black community that visrally disliked black girls like myself. If anything, it pushed me out of community vs pulling me in..... Fast forward to today, where we have the internet and can connect with like-minded people.... And I no longer cringe at these stupid names others have put on me and others like me simply because of how we genuinely live life on our own terms. Despite the negativity and backlash... So cheers to being America's favorite cookie 🤭 I only hope others can learn to love theirself the way they are vs tearing down other people who are happy within their hearts. Living a happy and free life.. Can you relate? Let's laugh and share stories below 🍪😅🤭
