When you see a great ugliness in this world -- violence, destruction, heartlessness -- what do you do? Does your heart feel likes it’s gonna break? Does anger well up in you? Does hopelessness? Do you begin to believe that that’s all this is? That’s all life is: Suffering, pain, cruelty. Can you take a breath here with these stories and feelings and just allow them to be here. Because they are. Take a breath deep down into the earth. And if you get very quiet, maybe you can hear the heartbeat of this world. Which is the sound of life living. Life will live. Life will live. Yes there is suffering. There is destruction and cruelty in this world. But it's a small part of a much bigger story. When you say no to destruction and yes to lIfe, you're in good company.
