‘How much of ourselves must we hide?’ Over the last week, I have received so many messages about the current happenings in Iran. The messages have consistently asked for nothing more than my support and an effort to make sure their voices are heard. I am always weary to weigh in on important issues across countries and cultures because I’m just not intelligent or knowledgeable enough to do so. But one thing I know for sure is that the mistreatment and abuse of women, in any situation or under any circumstance, is disgusting and simply cannot be tolerated. Furthermore, the silencing of protesters who would speak out against this abuse is equally intolerable. It is devastating to learn that both of these things are currently happening in Iran.
