Heliocare contains polypodium leukotomas, which is a tropical fern extract that helps protect your skin against UVB light and reduce risk of sunburn. Heliocare also has an advanced version that contains nicotinamide in addition to polypodium leukotomos, which has been shown to help reduce the risk of developing pre-cancerous lesions and non-melanoma skin cancers from uv damage. I typically recommend this to patients with skin cancer history. Remember that this does not replace sunscreen! It’s a great supplement to take in addition to sunscreen and other physical sun protection.
