It been a busy autumn and we haven’t spent much time in the garden so a nice relaxing day was in order. It was great to spend time with our hands in the earth and playing with the animals. Have you tried vertical growing? I’ve had a really hard time this summer keeping up with watering and trying to save as much as possible so I am going to start investing more time in water saving solutions. This is one, by recycling upturned 8l water bottles, a pallet and some soil I’m able to make this cool partially self watering vertical salad garden 🥗. I used the volcanic stones at the bottom to filter the water slightly and to provide oxygen to the roots of the plants. A 3 level planter? I felt like it was time for another planter and had the perfect sunny spot for it. With some leftover 120cm lengths of untreated pallet wood which in order to reduce waste made the length 80cm and widths 60, 40 and 20cm which meant less cuts and a bed size of 20x80cm. You can also line the bed with protective membrane and make a base in order to put it on a terrace or balcony.
