Modified into a contemporary bag from a traditional Orang Ulu basketry called the ‘Ajat’. This motif you’re seeing is is the repetition of hornbill’s eyes. It is handwoven with natural rattan colour combine with natural black dye to emphasis on the motif. Orang Ulu has always been very unique to their craftmanship. This type of woven is often seen in Borneo, woven in the alphabet of shape ‘x’ instead of ‘t’. A basket can take up to 8-10 hours to complete. While the bag itself is 18 hours.
