im always nervous biting into this fruit but its just so good not too! you need to wait till the scales fall off on their own or you get a mouthful of oxalate crystals which pretty much feels like fiberglass on your tongue and throat!! the fruit takes about a full year to grow & ripen. it looks like a weird corn? mixed with something else. the taste is INCREDIBLE.
