You ALWAYS want to make sure you can remove the fill bolt first because if you empty the diff and then you cannot fill it, you have a problem. 2. Then remove all of the bolts holding the diff cover on except you want to always keep the top bolt screwed in a little so you can control the gear oil coming out and not have the cover just fall off an make a mess. 3. Clean the bolts off and add medium strength threadlocker and also clean the gasket material off. 4. Add new RTV and put a thin bead. Too thick and it will squish out into the diff. 5. Tighten all the bolts to spec and fill with the diff fluid recommended in the owners manual for your car. Well we found the cause of one of the squeaking noises….

If you haven’t seen the new YouTube video, these @mayhewtools Torx bits came in handy when changing out the turbo on the charity car. I’ll throw a link in my bio so you can find them. These were sent out to me and I didn’t have a ton of use for them until all of a sudden I needed them haha. It was nice to have the low profile bit with the ability to slide a ratcheting wrench over them so I could get into really tight places where my ratchet couldn’t fit. If you have not seen the YouTube video yet, this car ended up going to a family that really needed a car. I found it through @autotempest and bought it via an @ebaymotors auction for $4k below the lot price but it did have a slight rattle in the turbo which ended up being the wastgate. This is a common problem on many cars with internal wastegates but specially for ecoboost engines. So to make sure it wouldn’t fail in the future leaving the family with an expensive repair bill, I swapped the turbo. Now the family has a bulletproof, fully maintained daily driver ready to go! #ChrisFix #MayhewToolsPartner
