However let’s be honest, sometimes we can make the kennel as cozy as possible and our dog will still choose to hate it. What if I said it’s because their only reference point with the kennel is when being confined?This exercise is a great place to start for crate training because it offsets your dog’s mentality about what the kennel is used for and starts to build a positive relationship with this environment based on communication. The biggest reward of all to our dogs is our attention and if you don’t incorporate the kennel in a way where they also see communication then they will only see it negatively sometimes.
