Sunrise Hike at the top of Grand Teton was the agenda! What we got was completely out of the plan 😅❄️🥶 Did I say that it was the end of June when I did this hike? My buddy and I had a 3 am wake up call to get to the trailhead. The plan was to get to the top of Delta Lake for sunrise. We were on pace and we’re dealing with some cloud cover. We had to keep pushing as we thought it would clear. Little did we know as we continued to get higher and higher we’d find ourselves in the middle of a snow storm. First it started as rain. Then it moved to hail. Then freezing rain. Lastly it turned into a full on snowstorm at the top with 20 degree temperatures 🥶 The mountains are no joke and never underestimate them. You never know what your in for when climbing to high altitudes. It doesn’t matter if it’s late June crazy things can still happen. Thankfully we kept our calm and enjoyed the view but had to get out of there a lot quicker then we wanted. It wasn’t the sunrise hike we wanted but it was a memory me and my buddy will never forget.
