My BEST Summer Job! ❤️ Stitch me yours!!! 😃. The best summer job I had was being a trail guide on horseback in the white mountains of New Hampshire. As a kid, I always wanted a horse and beg for one every birthday. From the ages of 7-9 I would research and find horses for sale in the newspaper, cut them out and put them on the fridge. Hoping my mom and dad would buy me one. My dad finally had a hard job of sitting down and telling me that if I wanted a horse, I would have to buy myself because we didn’t have the money. I was heartbroken, but that was a lesson where I first started understand what I was asking for in the value of money. At age 13 I went to work for my dad in his office in the county Partman, and do say it wasn’t very fun is putting it mildly. And then at the age of 15 I got the rare opportunity to be a trail guide on the weekends. I still didn’t have my drivers license, but my dad agreed to drive me there over an hour and a half each weekend so that I could do my dream job. As a parent today I get emotional when I think about the fact that that was my dad‘s way of giving me my horse and teaching me some valuable lessons about work.
