This is the first year that they’re collecting signatures to get on the ballot online and 80 people have signed up to be a candidate for President, and 40 of them have since withdrawn. But at least 6 of them seem to have unknowingly entered the race for President. So best of luck to those 6, nothing like potentially getting the worst job in your country by accident.

Russia Starts Their Own Olympics #olympics #russia Russia has started their own Olympic Games called the “Friendship Games” and athletes will compete for cash prizes in addition to medals. This is happening because Russia is perpetually banned from the Olympics and has had 43 Olympic medals confiscated in the last 20 years because they literally cheat constantly. The Olympics has called for all sports and countries to avoid the Friendship games. They also condemned the games saying that they deliberately circumvent sports organizations and show total disrespect for the global anti-doping standards. The Olympics also called out Russia for fully politicizing sport. Russia extended an invite to the whole world at the UN a few months ago, citing Russia’s continued support for “honest and fair competitions”. It’s unclear who’s going to waste their time with this given that they take place just weeks after the actual Olympics this year.

Russia Banned From 2024 Olympics #olympics #russia Russia and Belarus have been banned from the Olympics in Paris this year. Neither country or its athletes will be allowed to take part in the opening ceremony during the parade of nations. The two are also barred from team sports. Only a select few individual athletes will be allowed to participate under a neutral status and they must not have publicly supported the invasion of Ukraine or be affiliated with the military or state security. If they win, they’ll stand in front of a neutral flag with no recognition of Russia or Belarus, – they also won’t be allowed to wear anything symbolizing their nations, – and their medals won’t count towards the ranking of nations either. Russia went ballistic over this, but you’d think they’d be used to it given that they’ve been banned from the last 3 Olympics because they were cheating!

Mexico Says Texas Is In Violation Of International Law #usa #mexico Mexico says that Texas is in violation of international law. With the President adding “Let me say this once and for all, we will not accept deportations from the Texan government”. He also went on to say that Texas’ law is dehumanizing, anti-Christian, and even violates the bible. So in plain language - Mexico is refusing relations with Texas because it’s not a country, so it has no authority or sovereignty. They are not equals, Mexico is a higher entity than Texas. And now a US appeals court has frozen Texas’ law after the Supreme Court declined to block it, adding to the gigantic mess that Texas has created here.

Americans Love & Hate These Countries The Most #usa #uk Americans love these countries the most. Tied for first place is Canada and Japan with 83% of Americans telling Gallup that they think of them favorably. In third place is the UK at 82%. In 4th is Germany, followed by France and Taiwan. At 7th is South Korea with 72% of Americans liking them. In 7th is India, then Ukraine, Israel and Egypt. Israel’s favorability rating fell 10 points this year to 58% and Palestine fell 8 points too with now only 18% of America viewing them favorably. And Egypt has seemingly caught a stray with their favorability falling by 11 points. Russia came in dead last with only 8% of America’s viewing them favorably. But Gallup also asked Americans who their greatest enemy was, and here’s what they said: 41% believe China is America’s greatest foe while Russia is in 2nd place with 26%.In third is Iran and in 4th is… the United States with 5% of Americans believing the US’ greatest enemy is itself. And in 5th is North Korea. This is one of North Korea’s lowest rankings ever, falling from 51% just 6 years ago to now only 4%. So they’ve been relegated back to a side villain.
