a solar eclipse is a chance to observe a lot of rare phenomena, like shifts in the sky's polarization and ionization patterns, weird animal behavior, and of course accepts on visible light and perception! the Purkinje Effect, aka Purkinje Shift or Purkinje Phenomenon, is something we experience all the time, but usually don't notice. the Great American Solar Eclipse is definitely an opportunity to notice how our color vision system reacts to suffer shifts in light availability.
