If your dog is totally disregarding you when you’re outside, ask yourself this: 1) What kind of training have I done with them to encourage them to engage with me? 2) How much time did I spend building OUR relationship and including myself in the fun? 3) Did I put my dog in a position or environment that they’re not even prepared for? Aka.. are they even prepared to be outside or do we need to circle back to training in easier environments? 4) Did I unintentionally put everything & everyone else on a pedestal, resulting in me being unimportant outside?
