This is a very realistic 5am morning routine. And yes, taking a shower is on the agenda. Sometimes I question whether or not I should be drinking coffee, because two sips in, I’m already feeling my cortisol levels rise. But at this point, its a ritual I truly just enjoy and I never drink that entire yeti mug. I realized I brought my lunch box in from my car last night, but forgot to actually empty out the food I didn’t eat, so in the trash it goes. This morning I pick my kids up from their dad and head straight to a dentist appointment almost 2 hours from our house. So I had to be sure to get up, get my life together before I am gone for most of the day. I also like to provide my kids with a clean space to return to, as I have no idea what their home life is life at my ex-husbands house. Their first day back is always an adjusting period, so the less stuff sitting out that their curious minds can get into, the better. This also keeps my frustration level down as I am constantly out numbered being single mom of two. I also had a bunch of videos to edit for both you guys and some of my clients. My design business offers both interior design and graphic design aka content creation services to my clients. So I figured I would get an early start on my day, considering I only had 3 hours to make all of this happen and that includes a shower and getting ready to be gone all day. Lately my house has been feeling more like a hotel and because I’m semi living out of my car most days, not being rushed in the morning makes a huge difference when it comes to switching from the Bachelorette life I live on the weekends to mom mode during the week. This is also the last week of summer break for one of my kids, so really staying on top of things this week is going to be key. Luckily our summer routine doesn’t differ too much from our school routine, however, after having our lives turned around last month, I’m giving us all some grace as we head into this next school year.
