On April 2 1988, Whitney's "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" -- the fourth single from her second album, 'Whitney' -- reached #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The song was produced by Narada Michael Walden and written by Frank Wildhorn and Chuck Jackson. It would later become her seventh consecutive #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, beating The Beatles and The Bee Gees (who were tied at six) -- a record that still holds to this day!
