I always wanted to remind you that you can be a victim of your past or a creator of your own life but you can be both simultaneously. When you are spending most your time controlled by or thinking about you past you can’t be in the present living the life that is here. This isn’t easy. For years I saw myself as a victim. As someone who’s mum died when I was child. Someone who had been wronged and someone who had an excuse for feeling sorry for myself and for why my life would never workout. Don’t get me wrong it’s absolutely ok, fair and right to feel how you feel about your experience but what I also learnt was that if I ever want to have any control or agency over my one life it would come from how I feel on the inside. It would come from the stories I tell myself, my thoughts and beliefs and how I feel about myself, my life and the world. Thus I had to make some changes. It all started with therapy and finally allowing the child in me to grieve for my mum. It hasn’t been plain sailing… at times it’s been brutal but it has brought me to a place where I can enjoy myself and my life. It has brought me to a place where I can go through tough times but not spiral or lose control. I can be sad and upset to express my current experience but not allow that to define me or my future or how I see the world. I say all this to say that people go through way worse that me and manage to create happy fulfilled lives. It’s available to all of us if we do the work necessary. Avoidance is never bliss. Never make permanent decisions on a day you don’t feel good. Take care of yourself, nurture yourself and wait and see. You will be ok. #positivity #morningmotivation #empoweredwoman #fyp
