The Lord showed him judgment day, that he would not make it because of his unrepentant sin laying in his heart. If Jesus is your God, obey Him, He says go and sin no more (John 8:11) He calls you to repent or you will surely perish (Luke 13:3) He has told you to love Him by keeping His commandments (John 14:15) and surely if you keep His commandments it will help you avoid many sins, because one of the highest commandments is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, strength, and the second is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself- and you know that love covers a multitude of sin (1 Peter 4:8) You are to be set apart and holy just like the Lord your Father is holy (1 Peter 1:15-16), not like the people of the world who live in the flesh and gratify their desires (Galatians 5:19-21). You know Jesus died for your sins, and you were brought with a high price, you cannot live like the devil any longer and call yourself a child of God (1 John 3:4-10). Now that you are children of God, live holy, heed the Holy Spirit who corrects your words, thoughts and behavior, and remember to love your neighbor.
