A hot topic throughout a lot of my weaving videos is "what do you do with all those scraps?" ... and rightly so! I'm a big advocate for reducing waste and recycling fires as much as possible. In this video I use some left over merino from a previous blend, mohair end of cones (all wound onto one) and scraps from the back of my latest wall hanging. It's the same process as making my normal Artyarn, just takes a little longer to separate the fibres and place them onto the drum with the ends open and ready to take/separate between the needles on the carder. What I like about scrap yarns is the texture! There's little bursts of sari silks, cotton, chiffon - all sorts! It's also really cool to see it next to the wall hanging it came from. The next big question is when will I release more items! The answer is - THIS WEEK. I'm currently drafting the yarns/wall hangings etc and hope to have it live by the end of the week.
