Ony Carcamo is a Pinoy Renaissance man. As the Philippines’ Premier Ventriloquist, he has been entertaining and educating his Pinoy audiences for three decades now. He has won local and international recognitions for his art, and has represented the Philippines in international puppetry festivals. He has performed in the major theaters in the country, including the PETA Theater and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Ony has taught puppetry as an educational tool for teachers, parents, students nationwide. In 2001, the government, through the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) lauded Ony for his outstanding contribution to the local theater arts through his puppetry and ventriloquism. The NCCA endorsed his educational puppetry programs. Ony is also an award-winning advertising Creative Director and Copywriter, and has won several Palanca literary awards and Talaang Ginto sa Tula recognitions for his literary writings. He has published several books of poetry and stories for children. He is a scriptwriter, who wrote for the stage, radio and television, including the classic 1980s TV sitcom TODAS.
