Purchase a ticket for the R5 line, which is the train that goes to Montserrat. Board the train and enjoy the approximately one-hour scenic journey through the Catalan countryside. Once you arrive at the Montserrat-Aeri station, you can choose between two options to reach the abbey and mountain’s main area. a. Funicular: Take the Santa Cova funicular, a cable car that will transport you closer to the abbey and hiking trails. b. Cremallera: Ride the Cremallera de Montserrat, a cogwheel train that takes you directly to the abbey. After reaching the abbey, you can explore the area on foot, visit the museum, hike the trails, or enjoy the stunning vistas from the top.
