now obviously if your goal is weight loss, this is a completely different story and using scales can be super beneficial when tracking weight loss, HOWEVER if you are consistent with weight training and your goal is to build muscle, ditch the scales. I say this because muscle weighs more than fat, and just speaking from my own experience, I weigh the heaviest I ever have right now, but Iām in the best shape Iāve ever been in. I could so easily get disheartened knowing Iām heavier than Iāve ever been before, but I know this is just because Iāve gained a lot of muscle, and muscle is HEAVY! So this is just a reminder to be kind to yourself when it comes to the scales if you are consistently weight training, because weight is not always an accurate representation of the progress youāve made. when I say Iāve become the gym girl I used to look up to, THIS is what I mean. One time at one of my previous gyms, a woman asked me to record her set and she was rowing 15kg plates. After her set I told her how impressive it was and that was my goal someday.
