Taking a look back on my very first moss pole video and it's been quite the journey! I've learned so much more about plants, not only through practice, but also from connecting with plant parents all over the world through my content 💚 So, inspired by your questions for alternatives, I set about researching and testing techniques and trying new materials. For example, after lots of trial and error, I've learned that coco coir chips make a great alternative to sphagnum moss for building moss poles! 🪴 I've also found that I prefer to start moss poles with smaller plants, so their aerial roots have a chance to root into the pole as the plant climbs.
