lejnaskitchen Paruppu Sadham A simple one pot meal to make on those busy days. I loveeee a good paruppu sadham or khichdi. And this is the recipe I've been following for years. RECIPE Ingredients Raw Rice- 1 cup Toor Dal - 1/4 cup Ghee- 1 tbsp Mustard- 1 tsp Jeera - 1/2 tsp Dry Red Chillies -3 Curry leaves - 2 sprig Onion sliced- 1 Garlic chopped - 3-4 Tomato chopped -1 Sambar powder - 1 tsp Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Salt. Method Wash and soak the rice and lentils together for 30minutes. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, splutter mustard and jeera seeds. Add red chillies and curry leaves and sauté. Add onion and garlic and sauté till soft. Add tomato and salt and saute till mushy. Add sambar powder and turmeric powder and saute for a minute. Add the soaked and drained rice to this and sauté till combined. Add 3 cups water to this and add salt if you feel it's less and mix well.
