64 years - that's how long big oil companies and their lobbyist group the API have known about the full extent of global warming and intentionally covered it up. California joining other states and cities in a range of lawsuits is big news as they're the world's 5th largest economy and can be a bellwether for progressive laws. It's important to appreciate that these lawsuits will not solve the climate crisis - we all have a role to play in creating resilient communities and social organizations to undermine oppressive capitalist systems.
