Join us in celebrating the release of Allen & Swilly!🥳 We are thrilled to share Lough Allen and Lough Swilly’s release video! Both of these male common seal pups were dangerously underweight when they were rescued. Swilly also had a swollen chin and face which returned to normal after some medication and care. After 3 months of care and rehabilitation, these gorgeous blubbery young pups are returning to the wild in great health, with lots of that vital blubber they will need to stay warm & buoyant in the cold winter seas. Bon Voyage blubbery friends! All of our rescue pups are fitted with a blue I.D. tag that has a specific serial number. This will help us, and other marine life organisations to identify seals in the future. While it is not common to see a seal again, and often no news means good news, we have had spottings of past patients in Wales, England,Scotland and from volunteers in Ireland ! So you never know! It often takes 3 months to fully rehabilitate a seal pup. We have had a massive increase in the volume of rescues this season. With 47 seals in care we need more support than ever.
