When he showed up so sick I had no idea the love he had brought with him. I tool care of him, he got better, he had a home outside or in whatever he wanted. We got a year and a half together but he was just very different & special in terms of how much he showed me love. Oliver was more than a cat to me, he was a familiar, by my side as I built or sneaking on my lap when I crouched down, always jumping into the hammock with me. My first pet loss was my dog Myles a few months ago and now everything feels heavy. My heart is empty and broken, i am cold and it's not yet winter, but I am glad Oliver and Myles have each other now in the garden on the other side.
