So if you couldn’t tell, it was pouring rain all day. I waited until the last second to whip this parade “float” together. The tents I borrowed flew away three times in the wind, one of them broke, the paint wouldn’t dry because it was too cold, and I was soaked down to my underwear all day. I had planned to draw eyes on the reindeer, add more lights, bells, and red tinsel, but the day moved too quick and this was what we were left with. All that aside, 20 of my daughter’s friends showed up to the parade and got to walk/ride, hand out candy, and make our city smile. Somehow we made it as the center photo in the newspaper and got second place for ‘Best Christmas Spirit’ (I didn’t even know there was a competition) All that to say… it was worth every second!
