reminders you might need today š«ā¤ļøāš©¹ā¤µļø 1ļøā£ itās okay if you ate more than usual across the Easter weekend!! 2ļøā£ even if all you did was lay in bed, your body still needs & uses food just to exist & function 3ļøā£ if youāre noticing body changes at the end of Easter, itās temporary water retention, your body hasnāt changed permanently overnight 4ļøā£ please donāt weigh yourself - itās not helpful & the number wonāt be accurate 5ļøā£ food is fuel, but itās also for enjoyment too, if today was purely for enjoyment, thatās okay <3 6ļøā£ itās one day (or weekend) out of 365, you havenāt āfallen off the wagonā, this is part of life & can be part of a balanced lifestyle š« 7ļøā£ donāt let your harsh inner-critic take away the small joys in your life like enjoying chocolate on Easter with loved ones 8ļøā£ our bodies change inevitably across our lifetimes, so please donāt be too caught up worrying about yours changing 9ļøā£ you still deserve food the day after eating more than usual š when you look back at your life, will you really regret eating the yummy food & making memories with loved ones? or would you regret restricting yourself from all the food you enjoy & being all-consumed by fears/thoughts around food? & lastly, guilt doesnāt serve you, you didnāt do anything wrong, okay? š Just leaving these here because Iāve always experienced food guilt or restrictive thoughts around food on Easter (Iām sure Iām not the only one) and while Iāve improved a lot & have worked on my relationship with food, these thoughts still rear their headsā¦ BUT reminders like these have helped me to no longer give those thoughts power. So please take what you need & pass it on š«ā¤ļøāš©¹ I hope you had a magical Easter & enjoyed all the foods you felt like enjoying!! Donāt be so worried about your weight/body that you deny yourself happiness, fun, joy, memories & a fuller life š„¹ā¤ļøāš©¹ (more on lG: breeelenehan) By working on my relationship with food & my body image, I gained SO MUCH MORE than just āweightā I gained: š food freedom š laughter (REAL laughter, not just the half-hearted semi-present empty-stomach kind) š memories š joy š the ability to be more present š« vulnerability š self acceptance š¦ balance š„° more sustainable habits the list goes on & onā¦ in case it helps, these are some of the things I did to help heal the way I treated my body so that I could live a fuller life: šŖ prioritised actually BEING healthy (mentally AND physically) instead of just LOOKING āleanā or āfitā š„ worked with a fitness professional who was aware I needed help to heal my relationship with food. She supported me by increasing my food intake & helped make the process less scary. She helped me get my period back & understand my body better. š± followed accounts that remind me that Iām more than my body, that bodies change & all of us look different š«¶ šø challenged myself to work on my confidence (weekly solo dates), BE MYSELF openly online & be comfortable with all versions of me!! ā¤ļøāš©¹ I consciously worked on being kinder to myself: not entertaining negative thoughts, choosing to be more accepting & appreciative of my body šŖš aimed for balance & moderationā¦ Because it shouldnāt have to be all-or-nothing, that mindset isnāt sustainable or enjoyable!! š¢ You deserve a fuller life & you canāt do that on an empty stomach okay? Youāre so much more than the way that you lookā¦ Whatās more important is how you & your life FEELS š« #recovery #foodfreedom #bodyimage #bethechange #selfacceptance #recoveryjourney #youngerself #dietculture #beautystandards
